The Differential Carrier Spacer is a precision-machined aluminum spacer that sets the correct spacing between the differential carrier halves. This spacer ensures proper bearing preload and gear alignment within the differential assembly.
Correct spacer thickness is critical for differential operation. Too thick and the bearings will be loose, causing noise and premature wear. Too thin and the bearings will be over-preloaded, causing excessive friction and heat. The spacer must be precisely machined to maintain proper differential geometry.
