The Differential Shaft Retainer is a circlip-style retaining ring that locks the differential output shafts into the differential carrier. This retainer prevents the output shafts from sliding out of the differential during operation.
The retainer fits into a groove on the output shaft splines and locks against the differential carrier housing. Without the retainer, the output shafts could pull out under load, causing immediate drivetrain failure. The retainer must be properly seated to ensure the shafts remain engaged.
This is an OEM replacement part that comes standard with the Rush SR. Sold individually (one per output shaft).
