Lower Steering Shaft

Lower section of the steering shaft assembly on the Rush SR. This shaft connects the upper steering column (which connects to the steering wheel) to the steering rack, transferring steering input from the driver to the front wheels.

The steering shaft assembly consists of multiple sections connected by universal joints or couplings that allow the shaft to follow the chassis geometry. The lower steering shaft is the section closest to the steering rack and must handle the loads generated during steering input and road feedback.

The shaft must be properly aligned and secured to ensure accurate steering response. Universal joints allow the shaft to articulate as the suspension moves, maintaining steering connection throughout the suspension travel. Inspect regularly for wear or play in the universal joints, which can cause steering slop or imprecise control.

This is an OEM replacement part that comes standard with the Rush SR.
