Quick Release

The steering wheel quick release is standard equipment on the Rush SR, allowing the steering wheel to be removed and reinstalled without tools. This is essential for driver entry and exit — the Rush SR cockpit is snug, and pulling the wheel is the quickest way in and out of the car.

The assembly consists of a hub that mounts to the steering column splines and a sleeve on the steering wheel side. A compression spring provides return force, and 316 stainless steel detent balls create the positive locking action that keeps the wheel securely engaged during driving. When you pull the sleeve, the wheel releases cleanly; push it back on and the detents engage with a firm click.

Rush Auto Works recommends replacing the quick release every four years or approximately every 160 hours of runtime as part of the standard maintenance schedule. If you're rebuilding or refreshing an older car, this is a straightforward swap.
