Steering Rack Pinion

Pinion gear assembly for the Rush SR steering rack. This component converts the rotational input from the steering column into the linear motion of the rack shaft that steers the front wheels.

The pinion gear meshes with the teeth on the rack shaft. When the steering wheel is turned, the pinion rotates and moves the rack shaft left or right. The gear ratio and tooth profile are designed for the Rush SR's steering characteristics.

The pinion should be replaced if the gear teeth are worn, damaged, or if there is excessive play between the pinion and rack. Worn pinions cause vague steering or clicking sounds during steering input.

This is an OEM replacement part used in steering rack rebuilds.
