Steering Rack Tensioner

Tensioner for the Rush SR steering rack. This component works with the rack adjuster and compression spring to maintain proper preload on the rack shaft, eliminating free play while allowing smooth steering movement.

The tensioner sits between the adjuster and the rack shaft, providing a bearing surface that allows the shaft to slide while maintaining the spring preload set by the adjuster. The tensioner wears over time and should be inspected during rack service.

Signs of worn tensioners include increased steering free play or a notchy feeling during steering input. Replace as a set with the compression spring during rack rebuilds.
