Proper installation is essential for reliable operation. The sprocket carrier and its mounting bolts must be torqued to specification to prevent movement on the differential input hub. Loose mounting can cause impact loading during gear changes, potentially leading to carrier failure and subsequent damage to the transmission case or other drivetrain components.

Installation typically requires approximately one hour of labor and involves removing the chain, front sprocket, and related components for access to the differential housing.
