Shift Air Cylinder

Pneumatic actuator (also called shift cylinder) that converts compressed air pressure into mechanical motion to actuate gear changes in the Rush SR air shifter system. When you activate the paddle shifters, the valve block releases compressed air to the shift cylinder, which extends or retracts to move the shift linkage and change gears.

The shift cylinder mounts to the transmission and connects to the shift linkage. When compressed air enters the cylinder, it pushes a piston that moves the shift linkage, engaging the next gear (upshift) or previous gear (downshift). The cylinder must generate sufficient force to overcome the transmission's shift resistance while operating quickly enough for seamless gear changes.

The shift cylinder works in conjunction with the blip cylinder during downshifts—the shift cylinder changes gears while the blip cylinder opens the throttle to match engine RPM. Both cylinders receive compressed air from the air reservoir via the valve block.

This is an OEM replacement part that comes standard with the Rush SR air shifter system.
